Many people are still using a regular TV set, but there are also benefits of using the HDTV set. Comparing the regular TV with the HDTV will show you the big difference between both.

If you are planning to switch the regular (analog) TV with “high definition” one, here are some of the most noticeable differences (image related) between them. HDTV stands for “high definition television” and as its name shows it has the advantage of better picture, and the ability to produce astonishing images although they are displayed on huge screen size, when talking about the old analog television however the quality of the picture is affected when the screen size is increased. It is visible for the naked eye that the picture of the huge analog TV sets looks fuzzy and the colors are a bit blurred, in the same time HDTV offers us a higher quality and bright colored images. This huge difference in the quality comes from the resolution. The formula for a good resolution is more pixels (when a video camera takes a picture, it turns the captured picture into rows of separate dots, called pixels). Each pixel has assigned color and intensity. The display of the Standard TV set uses less pixel count than the HDTV set. A regular analog television set has a resolution about 640 x 480(307,200 pixels) and let’s take basically the lowest resolution available for HDTV set with resolution 1280 x 720(921,600 pixels). It is easy to compare the both sets when we talk in pixels – analog TV (307,200) and HDTV (921,600), obviously the low “high definition” set offers quality three times better than the regular television set.

Today, the HDTV offers the customers the best performance there is in television, but one factor appears as a problem that can make some users to change mind, the price for HDTV set are of course higher than these for a regular TVs.  But there are many companies producing HDTV technology for the market and the prices will be soon affordable for most of the customers.

About 50 years, the analog TV has been part of nearly every house in the planet, but the better technology of the “high definition television” is gathering more and more fans each day. With the improved picture performance (much more pixels), better level of the details, and more improved stereo sound system than the average TV, this innovative electronics are about to take the place of the analog TV in many households.

The comparing of HDTV with regular TV gives clear results, obviously if you can choose, the “high definition” set promises to be better purchase than the regular TV set. HDTV is a new option offered by the modernization of the technologies in our time, there are many new products developing which purpose is to give us the best quality on the best prices.

HDTV is a digital embellishment of analog TV. Switching to digital TV is different altogether. Digital TV uses 7 to 10 times more of the radio frequency spectrum that it can deprive cellphones and other mobile gadgets of spectrum. That is why there is a tug of war between digital TV and cellphones and affiliates.
